Bethesda Magazine – Jinya Ramen Bar Coming to Pike & Rose

Pike & Rose will get some ramen next year.

Jinya Ramen Bar, a Los Angeles-based chain, will open a restaurant at 910 Prose St. in the North Bethesda development in mid-2018, according to Federal Realty, the developer of Pike & Rose.

The restaurant makes its own noodles daily and simmers its stocks for more than 10 hours before combining them with pork, chicken or vegetables and other ingredients, such as bonito tuna or a seasoned poached egg.

Jinya also serves small plates including takoyaki octopus balls and crispy chicken wings, as well as mini tacos and craft beer.

The chain has 23 locations open or planned in the U.S. and Canada, including a spot on 14th Street in Washington, D.C., and in Fairfax.

Operating in a 2,456-square-foot space near L.L. Bean, the restaurant will join other eateries expected to open next year in the 24-acre development, including Taylor Gourmet, Nando’s Peri Peri and Nada, a tacos and cocktails concept.

Close by, Rockville Pike has another new ramen restaurant: Akira Ramen & Izakayaopened this month, serving the Japanese noodle dish in a space on the ground floor of the Galvan at Twinbrook building.
